  • How do I get started?
To begin the design process, contact our team to schedule a 15-minute discovery call. Afterward, a questionnaire will be provided to gain a better understanding of the project's goals. Following that, a paid consultation will be scheduled, either virtually or in-person, to tour the space, discuss objectives, and develop a project plan. The consultation includes a discussion of design requirements, budget, and timeline to create a customized plan.
  • How long does a project take?
Establishing a timeline for a project depends on its scope and size, and may be affected by factors beyond our control, such as shipping and manufacturing schedules. Selecting materials, furniture, conceptual drawings, and placing orders for shipping may be time-consuming. As partners in your project, our mutual objective is to ensure a pleasant and satisfactory experience throughout the process.
  • When should I approach a designer? Why should I hire a designer?
Once you feel inspired, taking the first step towards contacting us brings you closer to starting your project. Professional design services offer numerous benefits, including assistance with furniture size, design, and layout, budgeting, time management, and communication with contractors and trades. Designers can help avoid costly mistakes, provide conceptual drawings, and bring expertise with materials and manufacturers. They also provide a calming presence during a potentially stressful time and act as an advocate for the client on-site, ensuring their vision is achieved.
  • What is the price of using a designer?
Our pricing model is project-specific and determined by the scope of work involved. To begin the process, we offer a complimentary 15-minute discovery call. Thereafter, a consultation fee applicable to ensure that both parties' time is valued. Once the consultation is completed, we will send you a proposed budget for your project. Upon approval, we can commence the design process.
  • What is the preparation for a consultation and how much does it cover?
You have the opportunity to spend an hour and a half with a professional designer. We recommend preparing a list of questions and collecting any images or ideas that have inspired you. Prior to your meeting, an initial questionnaire will be provided to ensure the designer is prepared and informed for your consultation. While most questions can be addressed during the consultation, the scope and focus of the meeting will ultimately depend on your project's unique needs.
  • Can I include existing pieces (furniture)?
Yes, our team can certainly work with the elements you desire to keep, while keeping in mind your renovation goals. We aim to integrate these pieces seamlessly into your new design layout, as they can serve as a source of inspiration and set the tone for the rest of the project. However, we may advise against retaining certain elements if they are incompatible with the space. In such cases, we can suggest alternatives, such as upcycling furniture, donating it, or selling it to reap the rewards .
  • Do I need to find other living arrangements while having my house renovated?
Depending on the scope and location of the project, it's advisable to consider temporary living arrangements during the construction phase. An estimation of the construction timeline will be determined during the final approval process.
  • What is floor and spatial planning?
Spatial planning is the careful analysis & determination of the intended use of a space and implementation thereof. Floor planning, meanwhile, focuses on the layout of the space with regards to the position of the rooms and furniture, traffic flow, and more, as presented from a bird’s eye perspective.
  • What are drawings and why do I pay for them?
Drawings are detailed plans of a room, space, or house, providing a clear layout of walls, lighting fixtures, furniture, and fixtures, among other things. A CAD (computer-aided design) drawing, in particular, presents an accurate layout of all elements to scale within the area, thus saving time and money in deciding furniture sizing and placement. Furthermore, detailed kitchen or renovation drawings can aid in obtaining quotations from contractors by providing them with a clear understanding of the space envisioned before construction. It's worth noting that there may be unforeseen variables behind the walls when making alterations to the house, leading to changes in the drawing once the removal process begins. These modifications can also affect the budget. It's important to recognize that these paid-for drawings belong to the client, and they can choose their own trades and contractors based on them. Ultimately, drawings provide a clearer overall picture of the work that needs to be done and what needs to be purchased.
  • Can interior designers procure items that are not easily accessible to me?
Interior Designers have exclusive access to "trade-only" resources that are not available to the public. While some of these resources may be offered through high-end retailers, they may not be accessible in your region. Additionally, designers collaborate directly with manufacturers, who can produce personalized and unique pieces that are tailored to the specific requirements of the project.
